As the economy of the world opens up, the movement of people from a place of less economic opportunity to another place of more economic opportunity will take place. With that movement, comes a very deeply felt loss of connection to one’s roots. The people that you leave back, the places that you leave back and the memories that you leave back make a lump in your throat each time you think about them. Fortunately or unfortunately life does not stop, years will pass and with it, numerous happy and sad occasions when you wished that you were a part of the life that you’ve left back.

One way to do is to travel back and forth. There are two major hindrances to that. Firstly is the price of travel and secondly is the time taken. Air tickets are not the cheapest things on this planet. Most people are not able to afford it as much as they would like them to. This means that most people are able to meet their near and dear ones just one time per year. Or sometimes that even become one time in two years. Thus, when gaining something economically, you have to give up something emotionally.

Another way is to telephone. This is fairly common practice. With the mobile telephonic revolution that has already happened on this planet, it is the easiest way to connect to two people. With time, the price of the calls have either stabilized because of a large enough consumer base or become cheaper because of competition. There was a time, even a decade back when landline telephones were the more common means of communication. Thanks to revolution in technology, we are at least able to hear the voice of our near and dear people where ever we might be.

With the voice now comes sight. With the help of internet seeing your loved one is also not that difficult anymore. What you have to do is just get hold of a decent internet connection. The rule of the thumb is that a third generation internet connection should be good enough to carry video. Even the older edge technology is also able to carry somewhat workable level of video footage. For the best quality, though a broadband connection or the fourth generation internet connection should be more than enough.

With the more emotional connect done; some of us might want to give some material gifts, as well. With the service industry moving ahead in leaps and bounds, it is not a problem anymore, as well.  Suppose you wish to send Mithai to Rawalpindi, all you need to do is go online and find places that will do that kind of work for you.  All you need to do is find your choice of gift and provide the money and delivery address.
